Editorial Diares | Barak Shamir

I had the pleasure of photographing Barak Shamir in New York for this Editorial Diaries story. Barak is represented by Soul Artist Management NYC and he is a model with a strong international profile, with work ranging from the Emporio Armani campaign to Willy Chavarria, plus H&M projects that keep him consistently visible across the industry.

For this shoot, I wanted the images to feel rooted in NYC, not as a backdrop, but as an attitude. Sergio Silva, my friend and the stylist on this story, leaned fully into a fashion editorial language, bold layering, strong silhouettes, that kind of styling that makes the frame feel sharper and more intentional. We mixed studio and street, so the story shifts between controlled light and real New York color, taxis cutting through the background, the city doing what it does.
